Will the Roller-Coaster Ride Continue in CY 2023?

We are nearing the end of the calendar year 2022 (CY22) and what a roller-coaster ride 2022 has been (and it is not over yet)! CY22 could be reminisced as a year in which a multitude of battles were required to be fought. These battles significantly impacted the global markets and market participants. Some of the crucial battles included the Russia- Ukraine conflict that polarized the global strategic powers, threatening to unwind the post USSR globalisation of trade and commerce; central banks’ intense battle against the multi-decade high inflation; China’s battle against ‘Zero Covid’ policy that kept a significant part of the country under strict mobility restrictions; businesses’ battle against logistic challenges, supply chain disruptions, and input cost inflation; governments’ battle against private currencies (crypto) threatening to replace the fiat currencies as preferred medium of exchange; and last but not the least investors’ battle with the market to shield their wealth.
