Watch out for these penny stocks locked in the upper circuit on May 20

In the morning trade, the benchmark equity indices extended early gains or rather, jumped.

In the morning trade, the benchmark equity indices extended early gains or rather, jumped! All the sectoral indices on NSE rose with metal, real estate, and auto stocks gaining the most. Besides, Nifty traded just above 16,150 points.  

S&P BSE Sensex zoomed 1,221 points to 54,035 at 11.40 am. S&P BSE Midcap index also jumped 398 points and is trading at 22,467 levels. S&P BSE Smallcap ascended 463 points and trades at 26,264 levels. Sensex Top Gainers include Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Nestle India, Larsen & Toubro, Sun Pharmaceutical, and Hindustan Unilever. There are no top-losing stocks on BSE today.  

Nifty 50 index rocketed by 379 points and is trading at 16,189 levels. Bank Nifty also increased by 781 points to the level of 34,097. The top gainers on Nifty 50 are Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Nestle India, Adani Ports, JSW Steel, and Tata Motors. On the other hand, the top losing stocks are Apollo Hospitals. 

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth Rs 4,899.92 crore on May 19 while the domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 3,225.54 crore.
