Watch out for these penny stocks locked in the upper circuit on May 18

The market breadth, which measures the overall health of the market, was solid. BSE witnessed a rise of 1,941 stocks and a fall of 507 stocks.

On Wednesday, the Indian market extended its victory streak with Sensex & Nifty reclaiming their 54,500 and 16,300 levels, respectively. S&P BSE Sensex soared 260 points to 54,578.18 at 11.05 am. S&P BSE Midcap index also scaled up by 119 points and trades at 22,820.49 levels. S&P BSE Smallcap jumped 239 points and trades at 26,557.90 levels. Sensex Top Gainers include Axis Bank (1.78 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical (1.36 per cent), Bajaj Finance (1.20 per cent), Infosys (1.12 per cent), and HDFC Bank (1.08 per cent).   

   

Nifty 50 index increased by 87 points and is trading at 16,346.35 levels. Bank Nifty also amplified by 226 points at a level of 34,528.45. The top gainers on Nifty 50 are Sun Pharmaceutical (1.82 per cent), Axis Bank (1.75 per cent), Bajaj Auto (1.48 per cent), Cipla (1.22 per cent), and Eicher Motors (1.20 per cent).  

   

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth Rs 2,192.44 crore on May 17 while the domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 2,294.42 crore.
