Watch out for these penny stocks locked in the upper circuit on July 26

During the opening bell, the benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty 50 experienced a widespread sell-off.

On Tuesday, an increase in investor selling bias was witnessed in the Indian shares due to negative Asian indications. During the opening bell, the benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty 50 experienced a widespread sell-off. While FMCG and IT companies have been hammered the hardest, media stocks outperformed the bears.  

  

At 11.03 am, the barometer index, S&P BSE Sensex slipped 375 points to 55,390 levels. In the broader market, S&P BSE Midcap index trades at 23,479, falling by 186 points while S&P BSE Smallcap index too dropped 177 points to trade at 26,561 levels. On Sensex, most of the sectors are in red whereas only the energy & power were spotted in green with marginal gains.  

   

Nifty index is in red on the second day with a fall of 111 points at 16,519 levels. Likewise, Bank Nifty also plunged 285 points to trade at 36,441 levels. The Top Gainers are Bajaj Finserv (2.71 per cent), ONGC (0.96 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India (0.79 per cent), Reliance Industries (0.68 per cent), and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (0.62 per cent).  

  

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth Rs 844.78 crore on July 25 while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) sold shares worth Rs 72.26 crore.
