Watch out for these penny stocks locked in the upper circuit on July 25

At 11.31 am, the barometer index, S&P BSE Sensex climbed 468 points to 55,603 levels.

The domestic markets opened lower on Monday, tracking weak global markets, as investors worry about the impact of inflation on global growth and await Fed's comments on the July 27 rate announcement.  

 

S&P BSE Sensex fell nearly 450 points while Nifty 50 fell below 16,600, as pharma, auto, oil & gas, and PSU bank stocks were among the top laggards while metal outperformed to trade in the green.  

   

At 11.31 am, the barometer index, S&P BSE Sensex climbed 468 points to 55,603 levels. In the broader market, S&P BSE Midcap index trades at 23,619, falling by mere 40 points while S&P BSE Smallcap index added 70 points to trade at 26,702 levels. The top gaining sectors on Sensex are consumer durables, capital goods & power while all other sectors are trading in the red.  

   

Nifty traded below the 16,600 mark. Nifty index discontinued its upward journey and is in the red territory. It saw a fall of 126 points and trades at 16,592 levels. Likewise, Bank Nifty dropped 192 points to trade at 36,546 levels. The Top Gainers are Tata Steel (2.32 per cent), Apollo Hospitals (1.70 per cent), Induslnd Bank (1.09 per cent), UPL (0.90 per cent), and Hindalco Industries (0.89 per cent).  

  

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth Rs 675.45 crore on July 22 while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) sold shares worth Rs 739.38 crore.
