Watch out for these penny stocks locked in the upper circuit on July 21

The barometer index, S&P BSE Sensex, is up by 126 points to 55,524 levels.

The major equity indices traded with modest gains and reduced losses in the morning session. All the sectoral indices on NSE were in the green with an exception of the consumer durables index. The shares of Tata Communications and Sonata Software have gained more than 7 per cent in today’s trading session.   

  

The barometer index, S&P BSE Sensex, is up by 126 points to 55,524 levels. In the broader market, S&P BSE Midcap index rose 193 points while S&P BSE Smallcap index added 182 points to trade at 23,604 & 26,660 levels, respectively. The top gaining sectors on Sensex are realty, metal, capital goods, and telecom.  

   

Nifty traded above the 16,500 marks. Nifty index continued its upward journey with decent gains of 42 points at 16,563 levels. Bank Nifty zoomed 125 points to trade at 36,097 levels. The top gaining stocks are Induslnd Bank (5.13 per cent), Hindalco Industries (2.50 per cent), Larsen & Toubro (1.87 per cent), UPL (1.63 per cent), and Tech Mahindra (1.51 per cent).  

  

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth Rs 1,780.94 crore on July 20 while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) sold shares worth Rs 230.22 crore.
