Watch out for these Penny Stocks locked in the upper circuit on July 19

A positive sentiment resonated throughout the broader market, as evidenced by about 1384 advancing stocks compared to 451 declining stocks.

US stocks rejoiced in an upbeat pre-market session driven by robust bank earnings. Morgan Stanley soared 6.45 per cent while Bank of America gained 4.42 per cent, exceeding expectations. Notably, Bank of New York Mellon and PNC Financial delivered positive results as well. The S&P 500 banks index triumphantly closed 1.90 per cent higher, scaling heights unseen since March.

At 9:30 AM, the Sensex commenced its trading journey above the commendable 67,000 mark, boasting a gain of 0.41 per cent, while the Nifty followed suit, opening above 19,800 with a surge of over 0.38 per cent.

The Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap indices set a promising tone, opening higher by 0.27 per cent and 0.54 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, the India VIX experienced an increase of 0.94 per cent.

Among the sectors, Nifty Media, Nifty Energy, and Nifty IT flaunted their gains, while Nifty Auto witnessed some losses at this early hour.

Prominent gainers from the Nifty 50 included NTPC, Indusind Bank, and Infosys, while Hero Motocorp, Maruti, and HDFC Life took a slight dip.

A positive sentiment resonated throughout the broader market, as evidenced by about 1384 advancing stocks compared to 451 declining stocks.

On July 18, foreign institutional investors (FII) bought shares worth Rs 2,115.84 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) sold shares worth Rs 1,317.56 crore.
