Watch out for these penny stocks locked in the upper circuit on August 18

In the morning trade, the major equity indices reduced some of their losses.

In the morning trade, the major equity indices reduced some of their losses. The shares of FMCG increased for the third day in a row. Positive market breadth was strong as 1,814 shares climbed while 1,406 shares declined on BSE. Almost 157 shares were unchanged overall.  

  

The shares of Dynacons Systems & Solutions got locked at the upper circuit. The business announced that Life Insurance Corporation of India has placed an order worth Rs 105 crore for workplace solutions. Indo Amines received environmental clearance for the expansion of ‘synthetic organic chemical’ for its manufacturing plants; as a result, the shares of Indo Amines jumped 18.84 per cent. The announcement that the company's board of directors is set to review and adopt the plan for raising funds through any legal means caused the shares of Infibeam Avenues to rise 6.31 per cent as well.  

  

The barometer index S&P BSE Sensex declined 198 points to trade at 60,061 levels at 11.19 am. S&P BSE Midcap index trades at 25,281 level, up by 99 points. S&P BSE Smallcap index too zoomed 109 points to trade at 28,445 levels. In terms of sectoral indices, FMCG, telecom, and realty are the top sectors trading in green with marginal gains. On the other hand, energy, IT, oil & gas, and healthcare stocks plunged.  

  

Nifty index trades at 17,892 levels with a minimal loss of 51 points. Bank Nifty, on the other hand, gained 19 points to trade at 39,481 levels. The Top Gainers on Nifty are Tata Consumer (2.08 per cent), SBI Life Insurance (1.99 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (1.61 per cent), HDFC Life Insurance (0.99 per cent), and Bharti Airtel (1.16 per cent).  

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth Rs 2,347.22 crore on August 17 while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) sold shares worth Rs 501.23 crore.
