At noon on Thursday, the core equity indices i.e., Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading lower in the morning session. The Sensex was at 59,107.23 down by 451.10 points or 0.76 per cent, while Nifty was at 17,651.95 down by 122.85 points or 0.69 per cent from the last trading session.
The top gainers of Nifty 50 are Hero Motocorp, Maruti Suzuki, Bajaj Auto, Titan Company, and Asian Paints. Meanwhile, the top five stocks pulling down the index include NTPC, HDFC Ltd, Larsen and Toubro, ONGC, and SBI Life Insurance Company.
BSE Smallcap index is trading at 29,923.53, down by 0.09 per cent. The top five gainers are Himadri Specialty Chemical, Blue Star, Zuari Agro Chemicals, and Cupid. Each of these stocks gained more than 10 per cent. Similarly, the top five stocks pulling the index down include Welspun Enterprises, Spandana Sphoorty Chemicals, Nahar Poly Films, Sheela Foam, and Jaypee Infrastructure.
Almost all the sectoral indices on the BSE are trading bearish, with only BSE Auto being up by 1.18 per cent.
