Watch out for these low-priced stocks which made a fresh 52-week high on Monday

On the sectoral front, all the sectoral indices on the BSE were trading in the red, with BSE Realty down by 3.35 per cent.

At noon on Monday, the core equity indices i.e., Sensex and Nifty 50 were seen trading at a discount of more than 1 per cent at 58,249 and 17,350.55 levels, respectively. Sensex was down by 788 points or 1.33 per cent, while Nifty was down by 253 points or 1.27 per cent from the last trading session.   

The top five gainers of Nifty 50 were Cipla, Sun Pharmaceuticals, ONGC, IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank, and Bharti Airtel. Meanwhile, the top five stocks pulling down the index included Hindalco, JSW Steel, Bajaj Finance, Divis Laboratories, and Tech Mahindra.

BSE Smallcap index is trading at 28,947. 18 down by 3.40 per cent. The top five gainers are Sharda Cropchem, India Tourism Development Corporation, DB Realty, CSB Bank, and Vishnu Chemicals. Each of these stocks gained more than 8 per cent. Similarly, the top five stocks pulling the index down include PNB Gilts, Ramky Infrastructure, Cybertech Software and Systems, Gokaldas Exports, and India Nippon Electricals.

On the sectoral front, all the sectoral indices on the BSE were trading in the red, with BSE Realty down by 3.35 per cent.

The markets are being cautious ahead of the Union Budget that is going to be announced on February 1, 2022. Furthermore, the FIIs selling and sluggish global cues are adding to the investor frenzy.
