Top three stocks that witnessed heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today

These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.

At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in green with a gain of 112.43 points or 0.20 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index strengthened further to 55,887.33, a gain of 205.38 points or 0.37 per cent.   

On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals shined by over 0.5 per cent, power strengthened by over 0.3 per cent whereas auto climbed a little more than 0.1 per cent.   

Meanwhile, Gujarat State Fertilizers & ChemicalsJSW Energy, and Persistent Systems Ltd emerged as the top gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today. All of these companies reported a strong set of results for the quarter ended June 2022. Owing to this, their share prices jumped.   

Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd, an S&P BSE 500 company, rallied 9.32 per cent to trade at Rs 156 apiece. The company’s top-line grew 63 per cent YoY to Rs 3,091.58 crore whereas its bottom-line increased 306 per cent to Rs 162.73 crore.   

JSW Energy Ltd, an S&P BSE 200 company, surged 4.91 per cent to trade at Rs 245.70 apiece. In Q1FY23, the company’s consolidated top-line rose 68 per cent YoY to Rs 3,115 crore whereas the bottom-line soared 179 per cent to Rs 560 crore. 

Persistent Systems Ltd, another S&P BSE 200 company, climbed 4.65 per cent to trade at Rs 3,730 apiece. In Q1FY23, the company’s consolidated top-line grew 52.7 per cent YoY to Rs 18,781.11 crore whereas the bottom-line advanced 39.9 per cent to Rs 2,116.12 crore.
