Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today

These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.

At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in green with a gain of 472.76 points or 0.62 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index stood at 76,681.30 signifying a gain of 191.22 points or 0.32 per cent over its previous closing.

On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals rose by 0.54 per cent, power gained 0.75 and auto rose by 0.54 per cent.

Meanwhile, Reliance Power Ltd, Housing & Urban Development Corporation Ltd and Bharti Airtel Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.

Reliance Power Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 5.95 per cent to trade at Rs 27.62 apiece. The stock rallied as the company became a debt-free entity on a standalone basis clearing all outstanding dues to lenders.

Housing & Urban Development Corporation Ltd rallied 5.63 per cent to trade at Rs 282.45 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.

Bharti Airtel Ltd, an S&P BSE company, climbed 4.44 per cent to trade at Rs 1,089.95 apiece. The stock rallied as the CLSA issued a 'buy' rating on stock with a target price of Rs 1,540 per share. Further, the company recently joined the $100 billion market cap club, driven by the success of its mobile business.
