Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today

These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.

At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in the red territory with a loss of 94.32 points or 0.16 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index stood at the level of 57,901.67, signifying a loss of 89.44 points or 0.15 per cent.

On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals got hammered by 0.3 per cent whereas power strengthened by 0.85 per cent and auto surged by 0.14 per cent.

Meanwhile, Jaiprakash Associates, VST Tillers Tractors, and JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today. Barring Jaiprakash Associates, the other two companies have not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in their share prices could be driven purely by market forces.

Jaiprakash Associates Ltd, an S&P BSE Smallcap company, surged 4.77 per cent to trade at Rs 12.30 apiece. On Monday, the company announced that with a view to give thrust to its ongoing efforts to reduce debt, its board of directors has inter-alia decided to divest the company's significant cement business.

VST Tillers Tractors Ltd, another S&P BSE Smallcap company, rallied 3.09 per cent to trade at Rs 2,194.80 apiece.

JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd, an S&P BSE 500 company, climbed 2.94 per cent to trade at Rs 2,027.95 apiece.
