Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today

These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.

At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red with a loss of 498.49 points. By 9.15 am, the index further weakened to 57,510.29, signifying a loss of 588.63 points or 1.01 per cent.

On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals got hammered by over 1 per cent, power weakened by 0.9 per cent while auto slipped by 1.1 per cent.

Meanwhile, IIFL Securities, Pfizer Ltd, and Shilpa Medicare emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today. Barring Shilpa Medicare, the other two companies have not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in their share prices could be driven purely by market forces.

IIFL Securities Ltd, an S&P BSE Smallcap company, surged 2.99 per cent to trade at Rs 70.5 apiece.

Pfizer Ltd, an S&P BSE 200 company, rallied 2.31 per cent to trade at Rs 4,299.95 apiece.

Shilpa Medicare Ltd, an S&P BSE 500 company, climbed 1.80 per cent to trade at Rs 394 apiece. On September 22, the company's analytical services division situated in Hyderabad received USFDA clearance (EIR) for the inspection performed in April this year. The FDA clearance will enable the company to test and release batches into the US from this facility.
