In the previous session, which also was an expiry session on Thursday, markets witnessed huge volumes in select counters in the last 30 minutes of the trade. The huge volumes seen in select small-caps can be attributed to the changes made in MSCI India Domestic Small Cap Index. A total of 34 securities were added while 5 were deleted from MSCI India Domestic Small cap Index.
Following are the additions to MSCI India Domestic Small cap Index: Abbott India, Alok Industries, Balaji Amines, Burger King India, Canara Bank, CG Power & Industrial, Computer Age Management, EPL, Happiest Minds Technologies, Indian Rail Catering & Tourism Corporation, Indigo Paints, Intellect Design Arena, KPIT Technologies, Max Healthcare Institute, Nagarjuna Construction, Oracle Financial Services Software, Poly Medicure, Prism Johnson, Route Mobile, Sequent Scientific (IS), Shriram City Union Finance, SKF India, Solara Active Pharma, Sumitomo Chemical India, Sun TV Network, Supreme Industries, Supreme Petrochem, Trent, TVS Motor Company, UTI Asset Management, Vardhman Textiles, VST Industries, Zee Entertainment, and Zensar Technologies.
Following are the deletions in MSCI India Domestic Small cap Index: Adani Total Gas, Apollo Hospitals, Hemisphere Properties, KRBL, and Mishra Dhatu Nigam.
In today's trading session, BSE Small-Cap index is trading at 23,648.52 level, which is up by 0.26 per cent. On a YTD basis, the index has given a return of 30.69 per cent.
