TCS reigns as most valued firm with Rs. 6 lakh crores M-cap

The country’s biggest player in IT sector, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) regains its crown as the most valued firm in India with Rs. 6 lakh crores market capital overtaking Reliance Industries, on Thursday. The company's share price surged by 4.04 per cent to end at Rs. 3,137.30 per share on BSE. During the day, it soared 4.46 per cent to Rs. 3,150.

At close of trade on Thursday, TCS’s market valuation stood at Rs. 6,00,569.45 crore whereas RIL market valuation was stood at around Rs. 5,87,570.56 crore followed by HDFC Bank (Rs. 4,99,892.24 crore), ITC (Rs. 3,19,752.53 crore) and HDFC (Rs. 3,06,416.93 crore).

On January 24 this year, TCS' market valuation had surged past Rs. 6 trillion mark, making it the second company to achieve this milestone after RIL and it was the first time when any other company leaving RIL has touched this milestone.

At 10:48 hours, TCS was quoting at Rs. 3,150.70 per share, up by Rs 13.40 or 0.43 per cent against the previous close of Rs. 3,137.30. Currently, it is trading at 3.31 per cent below the 52-week high price and 39.71 per cent above its 52-week low price.
