Nifty declined nearly 2 per cent since Diwali 2021, closes just below 17,600 today; banks shine

Nifty and Sensex managed to put up minor gains ahead of Diwali weekend. The benchmark index closed at 17,576 while Sensex gained 100 points.

Nearly 108 stocks hit a new 52-week high while only seven stocks hit a fresh 52-week low on Monday.

Going ahead, on Nifty, the level of 18,000 is likely to act as a stiff resistance as the maximum concentration of open interest is seen around this strike on the Call option side with over 73 lakh shares while in today’s session, over 3 lakh shares were added (this data is on a provisional basis). 

Nifty closes lower for sixth consecutive day; Titan, Wipro and HDFC Life emerge as top losers

Financials witnessed some recovery towards the end and closed slightly higher. However, pharma, IT, and auto stocks remained weak.

Indices closed lower for the sixth consecutive day and ended the week on a bearish note. Nifty slipped about 0.44 per cent.

Nifty closes below 15,700; metal and energy stocks plunge

Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, and Tata Motors emerged as the top gainers while Tata Steel, ONGC & NTPC were the top losers.

Indices witnessed profit booking towards the end of the session ahead of the key US Fed event. Nifty slipped a quarter per cent to close just below the 15,700-support level while Sensex lost 152 points.

NTPC, Bharti Airtel, M&M, and Apollo Hospitals emerged as the top gainers among the Nifty stocks while Bajaj Auto, IndusInd Bank, and ONGC were the top losers.

Nifty continued its downfall on Tuesday as it closed lower by 0.27 per cent, while Sensex lost about 153 points.

Indices remained firm throughout the day. Nifty surged about 1.46 per cent and closed at 17,200. Sensex gained around 776 points while Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap rose by 1.61 per cent & 1.24 per cent, respectively.
