On Friday, the Sensex dipped by 398 points to close at 57,527.10, while the Nifty 50 slipped by 131.85 points to close at 16,945.05

On Friday, Indian equity markets ended on a flat note. Nifty 50 closed the last trading session of the week at 17,314.6 in the red territory, marginally down by 0.10 per cent. Top gainers of the index were Titan, Power Grid Corporation, ONGC, IndusInd Bank and Grasim. 

Amid a situation wherein, the investors were cautious and the markets remained choppy, the benchmark indices ended on a negative note with Nifty slipping below the 16,900 level on Wednesday. 

At 11.15 am on Friday, the headline equity indices, i.e. Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading marginally higher, as Markets are giving mixed reactions to the rising inflation.

BSE Smallcap index relatively underperformed broader markets, closing at 27,383.82 with gains of 1.47 per cent.
