On Thursday, the Sensex tanked 304.18 points to close at 60, 353.27, while the Nifty 50 dropped 50.80 points to close at 17,992.15. Among the Nifty gainers were Hero Motorcop, Cipla, NTPC, ITC and JSW Steel, while, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, ICICI Bank, Titan Company and Infosys were among the top losers.

The domestic markets maintained a positive momentum through the trading session supported by optimistic global cues and a few domestic factors which caused a rally in realty, automobile and banking stocks. Sensex ended 379.43 points or 0.64 per cent up at 59,842.21 while Nifty settled 127.10 points or 0.72 per cent up at 17,825.30 level.

What a day of trading it was on D-Street today! The initial hour of today’s trading session was quite volatile as Nifty swung both ways and at one point in time, it had slipped below the 17,600 mark. However, the bulls continued their New Year Celebration and logged a marvellous rally of over 1 per cent on Tuesday.
