Sterling and Wilson Solar inaugurates maiden solar project in Oman

Among the largest solar EPC solution providers in the world, Sterling and Wilson Solar Limited (SWSL), has informed the bourses that it has authorized the operations of its first solar PV project in Oman, thus becoming the first Indian company to have done so in that region.

In a filing sent to BSE, SWSL mentioned that it has received the order from Amin Renewable Energy Company SAO to construct this solar project. This project is backed by the Japanese-Omani consortium designed by Oman Gas Company SAOC, Marubeni Corporation, Bahwan Renewable Energy Company LLC and Nebras Power.

The Amin Solar PV project is Oman's first renewable-based Independent Power Project (IPP) and has an installed capacity of 125 MW (DC). The solar park uses bifacial modules, which generate less heat and can withstand desert temperature fluctuations.

Director and Global CEO of SWSL, Bikesh Ogra, while commenting on the new project, stated that the company's emphasis is on customer-centricity, implementation and delivery excellence which has assisted SWSL to make inroads in strategically situated markets that have favourable solar power procedures and high solar properties.

SWSL engages in diesel generations, electrical, mechanical and plumbing (MEP), hybrid and energy storage, transmission and distribution, and data centres services.

The company's stock closed at Rs 152.95 on Tuesday, up by 4.98 per cent or Rs 7.25 per share. The 52-week high is recorded at Rs 755.50 and the 52-week low is Rs 69.75 on BSE.
