SpiceJet enters codesharing agreement with Emirates
Leading low-budget carrier SpiceJet partners with Emirates to provide seamless connectivity to flyers travelling to global destinations from domestic airports.
The two airlines signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a reciprocal codeshare arrangement. This codeshare will open new routes and reduced connection times for Spicejet passengers travelling to destinations in America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East from India. Similarly, Emirates passengers travelling to India will be able to access 51 domestic destinations across Spicejet's network.
SpiceJet Limited operates on average 516 daily flights to 60 destinations, which include 51 domestic and 9 international locations.
Earlier, to better leverage the absence of flight connectivity provided by now shut Jet Airways, Spicejet inducted six additional Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft on dry lease to its fleet. The total number of planes to be inducted to the airlines fleet in the very short term is 27.
However, on Monday, the stock of Spicejet was losings its past week gains. In the morning session, stock was trading at Rs. 132.40 per share, down by Rs. 3.85 or 2.83 per cent on BSE exchange.
