A total of 2,240 shares advanced, 1,440 declined, and 127 were unchanged on the BSE.

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty-50 indices ended the trading session on Thursday in positive territory, with the Sensex up 0.58 per cent at 66,266 and the Nifty up 0.59 at 19,727. A total of 2,240 shares advanced, 1,440 declined, and 127 were unchanged on the BSE.

The broader markets were in positive territory, with the BSE Mid-Cap index rising 0.13 per cent and the BSE Small-Cap index plunged 0.04 per cent. The top mid-cap gainers were Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd and Power Finance Corporation Ltd, while the top small-cap gainers were Cochin Shipyard Ltd and GTL Infrastructures Ltd.

On the sectoral front, the BSE Telecommunication Index was the top gaining while the BSE Realty Index was the top losing sector.

The market capitalization of BSE-listed companies was Rs 3,19,10,023 crore or approx. Rs 319 lakh crore as of September 07, 2023. On the same day, 289 stocks hit a 52-week high, while 16 stocks touched a 52-week low.
