Shares below Rs 100: Only buyers were seen in these stocks on October 20!

Omkar Speciality Chemicals, Fervent Synergies, and DC Infotech & Communication were the top low-priced gainers on BSE that got locked at their respective 20 per cent upper circuits.

Wall Street indices ended lower overnight as a result of certain companies expressing pessimism over the future. The benchmark Treasury yield hit a fourteen-year high while the rupee dropped to a new historic low against the US dollar, breaching the 83 mark.

The Indian headline indices opened lower, mirroring the downward trend in Asian markets. Surprisingly, BSE IT and BSE Teck were the top-gaining sectors in a market where the majority of sectors were trading in the red. BSE Consumer Durables and BSE Bankex were the session’s biggest draggers.

At 12.20 pm, BSE Sensex fell 0.16 per cent, reaching a level of 59,010. Nifty 50 index edged down by 0.09 per cent to 17,495 level. On Sensex, HCL Technologies, Tech Mahindra, and Nestle India were the Top Gainers while IndusInd Bank, UltraTech Cement & Titan Company were the Top Losers.

IndusInd Bank was the biggest drag on Sensex with its shares falling nearly 4 per cent, despite posting a 57 per cent increase in net profit year-on-year for September quarter.

The shares of Panacea Biotec climbed over 10 per cent, making them the top gainer in BSE Smallcap pack. Omkar Speciality Chemicals, Fervent Synergies, and DC Infotech & Communication were the top low-priced gainers on BSE that got locked at their respective 20 per cent upper circuits.
