Shares below Rs 100: Only buyers were seen in these stocks on December 28!

Shares of Ajmera Realty & Infra India, the top BSE Smallcap gainer, surged nearly 20 per cent on a 10-fold surge in volume.

Asian markets experienced mixed investor sentiments, with Indian benchmark indices oscillating between modest gains and losses before ending the session marginally lower. With 2,078 shares rising on the BSE and 1,403 shares declining, the advance-decline ratio still strongly remained in favour of advances.  

At 3:30 pm, the BSE Sensex edged down by 0.03 per cent, reaching a level of 60,910. The Nifty 50 index edged down by 0.05 per cent to the 18,122 level. On the Sensex, Titan, Mahindra & Mahindra and Power Grid Corporation of India were the Top Gainers, whereas Bharti Airtel, Tata Steel and UltraTech Cement Company were the Top Losers.    

The worst performing sectors were BSE Metals, BSE Healthcare and BSE Telecommunications, whereas BSE Consumer Durables surged more than 1.5 per cent, attracting investors in a sluggish market. Oil & gas and energy stocks were also heavily purchased.  

Broader indices outperformed main indices, with the BSE Smallcap index gaining roughly half a per cent. Shares of Ajmera Realty & Infra India, the top BSE Smallcap gainer, surged nearly 20 per cent on a 10-fold surge in volume.
