Sensex surge 428 points; rebounds 4-day loss
Sensex rebounded today after a loss of four days and ended Wednesday’s trading session above 428 points at 41,323.00, up by 1.05 per cent while, Nifty also traded in green and closed at 12,130.30, up by 1.15 per cent.
This gain of S&P BSE Sensex as well as Nifty can be attributed to the overall gain in the global markets. The top five gainers are: Bajaj Finance-up by 2.79 per cent, Hindustan Unilever-up by 2.74 per cent, Reliance-up by 2.60 per cent, ONGC-up by 2.47 per cent and HDFC-up by 2.32 per cent.
While S&P BSE Mid-cap clocked up gain to close at 15,631.91, up by 1.34 per cent, S&P BSE Small-cap inched up to close at 14,671.58, up by 1.41 per cent. The top three gaining small-cap stocks are: Heritage Foods-up by 16.52 per cent, Mayur Uniquoters Ltd-up by 11.02 per cent and DEN Networks-up by 10.00 per cent.
Meanwhile, the top three sectoral indices are: S&P BSE Energy, S&P BSE Healthcare and S&P BSE Oil & Gas which are up by 2.37 per cent, 2.12 per cent and 1.61 per cent, respectively.
