Sensex erase gain by ending 280 points lower
Sensex slipped more than 280 points at the end of Thursday’s session, after closing in green, that is, above 200 points on Wednesday. Sensex closed at 40,913.82 levels, down by 0.69 per cent while, Nifty managed to close at 12,035.80 levels, down by 0.77 per cent.
The top five losers on S&P BSE Sensex are: Reliance-down by 2.51 per cent, followed by IndusInd Bank-down by 2.13 per cent, UltraTech Cement-down by 1.86 per cent, M&M-down by 1.84 per cent and the last one on this list is State Bank of India-down by 1.80 per cent.
S&P BSE Mid-cap slipped by 1.26 per cent to close at 15,556.34 levels, while, S&P BSE Small-cap sank 0.92 per cent to close at 14,703.96 levels. The top three losers of BSE Small-cap stocks are: Dish TV-down by 8.82 per cent, PPAP Automotive-down by 7.85 per cent and Balaji Amines Ltd-down by 7.83 per cent.
S&P BSE Energy, S&P BSE Oil and Gas and S&P BSE Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) were the top losing sectoral indices today which were down by 2.29 per cent, 1.83 per cent and 1.71 per cent, respectively.
