Ramco Cements commissions phase 2 of waste heat recovery at its Jayanthipuram plant

On Friday, Ramco Cements announced the completion and commissioning of the second phase of 9 MW capacity at its Jayanthipuram plant in Andhra Pradesh. 

The cement manufacture plans to install a total of 27 MW of waste heat recovery plants in all three lines of clinker manufacturing, including a proposed third line, which is nearing completion. 

The company had already commissioned phase I in September 2020 and is producing its full capacity. Further, phase II of 9 MW capacity was completed & commissioned on February 28, 2020 and is now producing at full capacity. 

With the commissioning of phase II of waste heat recovery plant, 60 per cent of the existing power requirement up to clinkerisation will be met from waste heat recovery plants, an environment-friendly source of power. The project cost for all three phases of waste heat recovery plants is estimated at Rs 220 crore. 

On Friday, the company’s shares closed at Rs 1,005.65, down by 1.25 per cent or Rs 12.75 per share, against a 0.95 per cent decline in the benchmark index. The 52-week high of the company is recorded at Rs 1,043.40 while its 52-week low is Rs 456.50 on BSE.
