Top 3 price-volume breakout stocks

The market saw notable volatility today, starting on a strong note but encountering resistance at higher levels, which led to a pullback into negative territory. However, as the session advanced, buying interest in heavyweight stocks drove a recovery, helping the Sensex to close higher by 0.83 per cent, concluding at 74,340.09 level, while Nifty also closed moderately higher by 0.34 per cent, concluding at 21,618.70. Barring the Realty sector, all others ended higher, with Metal and Energy leading the gains.

Castrol India Ltd traded with high volume of 7.39 crore shares, reaching a high of Rs 251.95 before closing at Rs 244.9. The stock saw a rise of 10.15 per cent from the previous close of Rs 222.33. Currently trading at Rs 244.9, it is near its 52-week high of Rs 284.4. The stock has gained 50.62 per cent from its 52-week low. The strong price movement with high volume indicates a price volume breakout and a volume spike.

Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd saw a trading volume of 1.80 crore shares, reaching a high of Rs 532.8 before settling at Rs 523.95. The stock increased by 11.17 per cent from the previous close of Rs 471.3. Currently trading at Rs 523.95, the stock has risen 20.98 per cent from its 52-week low.
