Piramal Enterprises raises Rs. 1,000 crore on BSE Bond platform

The company raised the funds through debt securities issued on a private placement basis. The stock of Piramal Enterprises was quoting Rs. 2,282.20 per share, up by Rs. 22.55 or 1.00 per cent in the early morning trade on Thursday.

 

Piramal Enterprises successfully raised Rs.1000 crores on BSE Limited's Bond platform on Tuesday. The platform is used by listed entities for issuance of debt securities on a private placement basis. Earlier, the company's board of directors had approved the issuance of non-convertible debentures (NCDs).

 

The BSE launched its electronic book mechanism platform BSE Bond in July 2016. The platform is a preferred option for raising debt capital in India. Since its inception, 131 companies have issued 1,352 bonds issues and have raised a total Rs. 5,69,549 crore using BSE debt platforms.

 

Meanwhile, the stock of BSE Limited was quoting Rs. 602.50 per share, down marginally by 0.02 per cent on Thursday. The stock had opened positive at Rs. 605.95 per share. The benchmark index BSE Sensex was displaying an upswing at Rs. 35,308.79, up by 108.99 points or 0.31 per cent, while Nifty50 was 10,630.45, up by 30.40 points or 0.29 per cent.
