Outperformers of the day: These top gainers sparked interest of investors on September 8!

With gains of over 18 per cent and trading at a new 52-week high, Arvind Smartspaces was BSE Smallcap pack's top gainer.

Overnight, Wall Street indices experienced their biggest rise in about a month. All major Asian markets, with the exception of China and Hong Kong, gained along with Wall Street. 

The Indian domestic markets were boosted by gains of over a per cent each in the banking, finance, IT, and technology sectors. While Nifty traded close to the 17,800 level, the benchmark index BSE Sensex ended 1.12 per cent higher. BSE Bankex sector witnessed the biggest growth of almost 2 per cent, led by gains of 3 per cent each for Axis Bank and Bank of Baroda. 

The performance of broader markets was strong as well. With gains of over 18 per cent and trading at a new 52-week high, Arvind Smartspaces was BSE Smallcap pack's top gainer. Among the top turnover stocks of the session were InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo), Bajaj Finserv, and Yes Bank. And, Titaanium Ten Enterprise, Captain Technocast, and Kaarya Facilities & Services were the top low-priced gainers on BSE, locking in a 20 per cent upper circuit.
