Orient Electric shines on launching UV Sanitech
Orient Electric Limited (OEL), a part of diversified Indian conglomerate of CK Birla Group announced on Friday that it has launched UV Sanitech, a sanitisation box with ultraviolet (UV-C) light.
With this launch, the company has forayed into the health appliances segment. Reacting to this development, the stock of Orient Electric went up by 2.87 per cent at 1.16 pm on Friday.
OEL is a distinguished name in the Indian fan industry and post launching UV Sanitech, the company has now entered the hygiene product segment. UV Sanitech will kill virus including Coronavirus, bacteria and fungi, which sits on the surface of daily used objects and groceries, in just four minutes with its UV light.
Orient UV Sanitech is a 34 litre capacity box with two UVC lamps providing sufficient UV germicidal irradiation, increasing the efficacy of disinfection, which claims to kill 99.9 per cent virus and bacteria.
The company is manufacturing the sanitisation box in-house at the Faridabad facility. OEL also plans to launch more such products in the same segment in the near future.
Orient UV Sanitech is a ‘Made in India’ product, priced at Rs 11,999 and is available online on Flipkart and Amazon. The product is certified and tested by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL).
In the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, there has been a spike in the demand for health and hygiene products. OEL’s step of launching UV Sanitech will contribute to the fight against the spread of the virus.
At 1.16 pm on Friday, the stock of Orient Electric Limited was trading at Rs 179.05. Its 52-week high is Rs 286.45 while its 52-week low is Rs 138.15 on BSE.
