NVDA awards EPC contract to L&T Construction
On Thursday, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced that its water and effluent treatment business had been awarded the prestigious Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) order from Narmada Valley Development Authority (NVDA), Government of Madhya Pradesh to execute Indira Sagar-Parwati Phase III and IV Lift Micro Irrigation Project. This is a repeat order from NVDA, for which L&T is already executing Parwati Phase 1 & 2 and various other projects.
According to the company, the project has been classified under the 'large' category which may be valued anywhere between Rs 2,500 to Rs 5,000 crore. It envisages the provision of water for micro-irrigation to 1 lakh hectares of cultivable command area in Sehore and Shajapur districts of Madhya Pradesh by lifting 32.04 cumecs of water from Indira Sagar Project Reservoir.
The scope of the said project includes surveying, designing, procurement, construction and installation of pumping systems and raising & distribution of pipeline networks, electrical power transmission lines as well as automation system by Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA).
