NSE semi-annual review: Tata Consumer Products replaces GAIL in Nifty 50; 24 stocks get replaced in Nifty 500
In a semi-annual review, Index Maintenance Sub-Committee (Equity) has decided to make some replacement among stocks in various indices as part of its periodic review. While there was only one major change in the benchmark Nifty 50, it has replaced seven stocks in Nifty Next 50 index. These changes shall become effective from March 31, 2021.
In Nifty 50, GAIL (India) was replaced by Tata Consumer Products. While in Nifty Next 50 index, Bank of Baroda, Container Corporation of India, General Insurance Corporation of India, Hindustan Zinc, Oracle Financial Services Software, Power Finance Corporation, and Tata Consumer Products were replaced by Adani Enterprises, Apollo Hospital Enterprise, GAIL (India), Jubilant FoodWorks, MRF, Vedanta, and Yes Bank.
In Nifty 500 index, 24 stocks were replaced as a part of its periodic review. Stocks including CARE Ratings, ESAB India, Chennai Petroleum Corporation, Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation, Heritage Foods, Praj Industries, PSP Projects, South Indian Bank, and VRL Logistics, among others, were excluded. Meanwhile, inclusions comprised of Angel Broking, Balaji Amines, Computer Age Management Services, Happiest Minds Technologies, Intellect Design Arena, KPR Mills, Route Mobile, Rossari Biotech, among others.
Nifty Midcap-100 and Nifty Smallcap-100 were also rejigged in the periodic review. Ten stocks were replaced in Nifty Midcap-100 while in Nifty Smallcap-100 index, 23 stocks were replaced.
