NLC India updates on solar power projects
Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) India on Wednesday announced that the balance 351 MW of solar power projects under implementation in the district of Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Irudhunagar and Ramanathapuram, out of 709 MW Solar power projects, awarded by TANGEDO, has been successfully completed.
With this, the entire 709 MW Solar Power Projects, which were under implementation in the state of Tamil Nadu, have been successfully completed and now the overall solar power generation capacity is increased to 1350 MW.
The Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) Limited is a ‘Navratna’ government of India company in the fossil fuel mining sector and thermal power generation .The main core activity of NLC is lignite excavation and power generation using lignite excavated. NLC is having three lignite mines of capacity 28.5 million tonnes per annum at Neyveli, Tamil Nadu and one cast lignite mine at Barsingsar of capacity 2.1 million ones per annum. NLC has five pithead Thermal Power Stations with an aggregate capacity of 3240 MW. NLC has also installed 17 wind turbine generators of 1.50 MW each. The company produces about 30 million tonne lignite per annum from opencast mines.
On Thursday, the stock of NLC opened at Rs.58.20 per share and made an intraday high and low of Rs. 58.55 and Rs. 57.60, respectively on the BSE. The stock closed at Rs. 57.75, up by 0.26 per cent.
