Minda Industries Q4FY18 profit jumps over two-fold

Minda Industries reported impressive numbers for the quarter ended March 31, 2018.

The company’s consolidated revenue for the quarter came in at Rs 1371 crore, registering an increase of 42.2 per cent YoY.

Its EBITDA for the quarter rose by 61.6 per cent YoY to Rs 169.5 crore, with a corresponding margin expansion of 148 bps. The EBITDA margin for the quarter stood at 12.4 per cent.

The reported net profit for the quarter came in at Rs 139.95 crore, an increase of 122.5 per cent YoY. This includes exceptional gain of Rs 38.24 crore.

Looking at the full year numbers, we see that the revenue jumped by 24 per cent to reach Rs 4548.29 crore, while the EBITDA rose by 43 per cent to Rs 533.82 crore. The company reported net profit of Rs 330.86 crore, up 79 per cent YoY.

The board of directors has recommended a final dividend of Rs 1.60 per equity share of face value of Rs 2 each.

Minda Industries designs, develops, manufactures, and sells auto components, including auto electrical parts and its accessories in India and internationally. It derives 82 per cent revenue from the Indian market and the remaining 18 per cent from international markets. It enjoys 67 per cent market share in switching systems and 47 per cent market share in acoustic systems.

On Tuesday, the stock opened at Rs 1080 and touched an intra-day high of Rs 1135, up by almost 5 per cent. The stock finally closed at Rs 1125 on the BSE.
