Meet the value investment mastermind - Mohnish Pabrai

Sometimes copying someone else's style can make you a fortune.

The man who had bid USD 650,100 for a charity lunch with Warren Buffett, an Indian American businessman, investor, and philanthropist, Mohnish Pabrai is definitely a well-regarded trending personality in India and abroad.

Mohnish Pabrai is well known for his value picking style of investing which he openly admits has been copied from his guru Warren Buffett.

Recently he was featured in the news for his increased stake in Edelweiss Financial Services and Rain Industries. As of September 2021, he now holds a 6.3 per cent stake in Edelweiss, the amount of which forms to be about Rs 468 crore. As of October 21, 2021, has a net worth of Rs 1360 crore. He has public holdings in six Indian companies implying Buffett’s strategy of ‘few bets, big bets.'

He sold his IT business for about Rs 45 crore and started his own fund- Pabrai Investment Fund.

Mohnish Pabrai, with being a famous value investor is also a popular author. One of his books ‘The Dhandho Investor- The Low- Risk Value Method to High Returns’ was a big hit. He believes in the style of investing where one would have higher gains with little to lose.
