Markets tank on alleged PoK bombing

Markets experienced jitters in the early morning session as Reuters reported Pakistan army's claims that the Indian Airforce bombed parts of Pak occupied Kashmir on Tuesday. BSE Sensex lost 322.27 points and was at 35,891.11 at 9:37 hours.

 

On the other hand, Nifty50 was down 93.20 points at 10,786.90 in the morning session. There were 40 declines and only 10 stocks managed to stay in the green. 

 

Among the top losers of BSE Sensex were Yes Bank, Hero Moto, Sun Pharma, ICICI, Vedanta, Tata Steel down from 2.55 per cent to 1.78 per cent. The top losers of Nifty include IndiaBulls Housing, JSW Steel and HPCL.

 

While the top gainers on Sensex were TCS, Hindustan Lever, Coal India, Tata Motors, these were the only stocks that were trading in the green zone. Top gainers on Nifty50 included Bajaj Finserv.

 

Unverified sources reported that 12 Mirage aircraft of Indian Airforce dropped 1,000 kg bombs in a pre-dawn strike on terror camps across the Line of Control. Source claimed that terrorist camps in Balakot, Chakothi and Muzaffarabad were destroyed in the bombing, the sites include the Pak terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed's control rooms.
