Indian benchmarks opened little changed on Friday after two sessions of gains, while other Asian stocks fell as U.S. tariff uncertainty continued to weigh on investor sentiment.

At 09:52 AM, Sensex was down 218 points, or 0.29 per cent, at the 74,122 level, while Nifty also dropped by 3 points, 0.01 per cent. On the broader level, Nifty Mid-Cap traded higher by 50 points or 0.10 per cent, while Nifty Small-Cap extended yesterday’s gains, surging by 80 points or 0.52 per cent.

Trading activity in the stock market often highlights key stocks witnessing an unusual surge in volumes. Today, certain stocks have attracted significant investor interest, trading at volumes multiple times higher than their two-week average. Below is an analysis of the top volume buzzers of the day.

Gensol Engineering Ltd

GENSOL is witnessing a sharp increase in trading volume today, with a total traded volume of 3.77 lakh shares. This represents a 10.26 times rise compared to its two-week average volume of 0.37 lakh shares. The turnover for the stock stands at Rs 12.47 crore. Currently, the stock is trading at Rs 333.85, down by Rs 1.50 or 0.45 per cent from its previous close. Despite the decline in price, the strong volume activity indicates heightened participation from market participants.

Kalpataru Projects International Ltd

KPIL is also among the top volume gainers of the day, recording a traded volume of 0.99 lakh shares. This marks a 5.85 times increase from its two-week average volume of 0.17 lakh shares. The stock has witnessed a turnover of Rs 9.54 crore. Currently, KPIL is trading at Rs 947.10, up by Rs 31.45 or 3.43 per cent from its previous close.
