Market Faces Geopolitical Tensions, Eyes on Earnings Season
Over the past month, the Indian equity benchmark indices have significantly underperformed compared to the US markets. This underperformance is largely attributed to two key factors: an aggressive sell-off by foreign institutional investors (FIIs) and escalating tensions in the Middle East which triggered a surge in crude oil prices. This has reignited inflation concerns and the impact it could have on India’s fiscal deficit. However, despite these headwinds, the NSE benchmark Nifty 50 index has managed to rebound from its October 7 lows.
