L&T Construction records order inflow in two segments; stock gains
On Wednesday, L&T informed that it has received orders from prestigious clients in two of its businesses in the construction arm namely metallurgical & material handling business as well as power transmission & distribution business.
The order in the metallurgical and material handling segment is to construct a metallurgical plant in the domestic market along with product supply orders from various customers. The power and transmission segment has won an engineering, procurement, construction & commissioning (EPCC) contract to construct 500 kV transmission line in Malaysia that comes after successful completion of a similar project in West Malaysia. This decided overhead line will facilitate power evacuation from an upcoming combined cycle power generating facility in the region.
L&T is a pioneer in the Indian construction & mining machinery industry. It is engaged in the distribution and support of equipment such as hydraulic excavators, rear dump trucks, crawler dozers, wheel loaders, etc. L&T is one of the most widely held listed companies in India, which has no promoter holding and is paying uninterrupted dividend payment record since 1946.
L&T's share was trading at Rs 1,352.30, up by 0.19 per cent in the second half of the trading session on Wednesday as on BSE.
