L&T Construction bags contract for hospitals

L&T's Buildings & Factories business has bagged a design and build order for the construction of hospitals from a private developer in India. 

This project is first of its kind from a private sector which will adhere to the National Disaster Management Authority guidelines. It will include base isolators in the foundation to counter the worst case extreme seismic scenarios.

The project will feature 37 linear accelerator bunkers. The project has stringent timelines and has to be completed within 30 months. 

The Buildings & Factories segment has secured another order for the construction of a hospital in Udupi, Karnataka. 

The value of these contracts is estimated to be between Rs. 2,500 to 5,000 crore. 

By end of the December quarter, of the total order book, private sector orders stood at 20 per cent, the PSU share was 38 per cent, centre government orders at 10 per cent and state government orders at 32 per cent. For FY19, the company’s management has guided order inflow growth of 10-12 per cent. 

The stock of L&T in past one year has been at a consolidated level. The stock's 52-week high is Rs. 1,459.10 and 52-week low is Rs. 1,183.40. On Wednesday, L&T opened at Rs. 1,252 per share on BSE.
