JSPL reports highest production during quarter

The leading steel and power sector company, Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL), reported highest ever quarterly production number for a quarter during recently concluded third quarter ended December 2019.

The company in its press release to the stock exchange said that it has witnessed quarterly production of 1.61 million tonnes of steel in Q3FY20, which is the highest ever for time frame to a quarter. The JSPL has achieved quarterly production milestones in Q3 of FY2019-20 across India and Oman. Raigarh and Angul operations have contributed 8,17,344 and 7,92,822 metric tonnes to this achievement.

For the JSIS in Oman, Rolling Mill has recorded the highest production of 5,282 metric ton in a day on December 28, 2019 and Steel Melting Shop has recorded the highest ever 2 MTPA steel production run-rate in Q3 of FY19-20. Apart from these, Direct Reduced Iron Unit has recorded the highest ever production of 1.75 million tonnes in CY2019. On other hand, the JSPL facilities in Angul and Raigarh, which produce rebar, rail structures plate coils, and beam structures, registered a production of 2,58,026 MT, 1,65,473 MT, 2,43,237 MT, and 1,14,036 MT, which is highest ever recorded number for all the reported production facilities for a quarter.

At 12.00 pm stock traded with gains of 1.29 per cent at Rs. 169 on the BSE.
