Indigo's Q4 PAT dips 73 per cent

Interglobe Aviation, which owns Indigo airlines,reported today its fourth quarter results for FY18. 

The company's standalone revenue for the quarter came in at Rs 5799.1 crore, registering an increase of 19.6 per cent YoY. 

Its EBITDA for the quarter fell by 74.4 per cent YoY to Rs 129.763 crore with a corresponding margin contraction of 824 bps. The EBITDA margin for the quarter stood at 2.2 per cent. This margin contraction was due to higher other expenses in proportion to sales (28.4 per cent in Q4FY18 vs 24.9 per cent in Q4FY17). Also, the increase in aircraft fuel expenses added in margin contraction. 

The PAT for the quarter came in at Rs 117.642 crore, a decline of 73.3 per cent YoY. 

The load factor during the quarter was at 88.9 per cent as against 86.1 per cent in the corresponding quarter last year. 

Looking at full year numbers, the company delivered stellar performance. Its revenue for FY18 registered growth of 24 per cent YoY to Rs 23,021 crore. Its EBITDA during the year rose 38 per cent to Rs 2956 crore, while its net profit surged 35 per cent YoY to Rs 2242 crore. 

The board of directors of the company has recommended dividend of Rs 6 per equity share.
