How equity MFs performed this year?

If we look at 2018, the year was very volatile for stock markets and as equity mutual funds are derivatives of stocks, they also have faced ups and downs.

If we look at the above returns then only large-cap and technology-focused sectoral fund have given positive returns of 2.73 per cent and 22.24 per cent, respectively and remaining 16 mutual funds gave negative returns, with PSU dedicated thematic fund performing the worst with negative 20.25 per cent returns, followed by small-cap, infrastructure, energy and mid cap with negative 16.81, 16.48, 13.73 and 10.44 per cent returns, respectively.

So we can make out that this year was rough for equity mutual funds. However, this gives an opportunity to enter in market. People must continue with their SIP (Systematic Investment Plan).
