Gold Bonds: Subscription for Series 2 - SGB 2018-19 live on BSE

Investors can subscribe online for the Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) Scheme from October 15 to 19, 2018 through authorised SEBI Brokers.

BSE’s online platform for SGB Scheme 2018-19 - Series 2 will be available under the exchange’s IPO, Offer for Sale (OFS), Offer to buy section. SGB will be issued every month from October 2018 to February 2019.

SGBs are government securities denominated in grams of gold. The quantity of gold invested is protected as the investor will receive ongoing market price at redemption. The SGB is a safe and convenient means of investing and holding gold in demat form.

The nominal issue price for the SGB for the subscription period of October is approximately Rs. 3,146 per gram. The government is offering a discount of Rs. 50 per gram for online subscription and the effective issue price for such investors will be Rs. 3,096 per gram of gold.

Is NRI allowed to apply for Gold Bond under NRO or NRI Demat account?

Dear Sir,

Currently, NRIs (Non-Resident Indians) are not eligible to invest in Sovereign Gold Bonds.
