GNFC resumes operations at Dahej plant

Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GNFC) has informed the exchanges that the operations of TDI-II plant in Dahej have resumed. After fixing the technical issues with full safety precautions, the plant has started working and normal production was achieved on Tuesday at 07:00 hours.

 

Earlier, on May 28, 2018, at around 22:47 hours, a minor gas leak occurred at the Absorption Tower Circulation pump which was immediately sensed by alarm and gas leak detector system. Post this, an immediate safe shutdown of the equipment was carried out. The leakage was stopped with 13 minutes and as a part of safety protocol, the Rahiyad villagers were informed and alerted.

 

As per the company, the supply to its clients was smooth and uninterrupted as the requirements were met through its existing inventory and now the further supply would be carried out through the normal fresh production. Also, its TDI-I plant at Bharuch is safe and company supplied products through this plant during the disruption at the Dahej plant.

 

GNFC is engaged in the manufacture and marketing of various fertilizers including urea and ammonium nitro-phosphate under the brand ‘Narmada’.

 

On Tuesday, the stock opened at Rs. 469 per share and tanked by 4.68 per cent to Rs. 447.05 in the morning trading session.
