GE T&D shines after bagging project worth Rs 173 crore
GE T&D India Limited has been awarded Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Advanced Distribution Management Solution (ADMS) project by the Jammu & Kashmir Power Development Department (JKPDD) for the distribution operations in the cities of Jammu and Srinagar.
The order worth approximately Rs 173 crore, won through a competitive bidding process, including a five-year maintenance service contract, along with the supply and integration of a host of solutions in the overall distribution network in the two cities.
The technology solution being executed for this project is used mainly for 24x7 power supplies, reduction of power losses, real-time data monitoring and control of distribution network from a centralised place. This will determine the setting up of reliable and ‘no manual touch’ systems for system control/data collection and adoption of information technology in the area of energy accounting.
SCADA technology reduces Aggregate Technical and Commercial (AT&C) losses and enables real-time monitoring and control of the electric distribution network, handling of loads during load shedding, restoration and plugging of pilferage points. Implementation of SCADA and ADMS also results in the greater supply of quality power, faster identification of faults, early restoration of power supply and last but not the least, the proper planning and design of the distribution network.
The order inflows in H1FY20 were worth Rs 1,107.9 crore, as against the order inflow of Rs 1,335.4 crore in H1FY19.
On Thursday, the stock of GE T&D surged 8.6 per cent to Rs 166.15 from its previous close of Rs 153.05 on BSE.
