Funds holding highest share of Reliance Industries

India’s largest company by market-cap, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has witnessed a sharp fall in the share price from its recent high after posting second-quarter numbers.

For Q2FY20, the company reported a fall in revenue as well as profit on a yearly basis. The saving grace for the company was the lower tax that helped it to post a profit decline of 7 per cent otherwise, the profit would have also declined by a quarter. There are brokerage reports that have downgraded the stock and new target prices as low as around Rs 1,200.

Many smart funds had started offloading RIL shares much before. At an aggregate level, the holdings by mutual fund schemes in RIL have seen a continuous decline since June 2020. In fact, 17 funds completely exited from the stock in the month of September 2020.
