Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
The domestic benchmark indices opened in the negative territory on the fourth day of the week. At 11.30 am, both Sensex and Nifty plunged 0.83 per cent & 0.89 per cent, trading at 59,852.46 and 17,856.15 levels, respectively.
The top three gainers of today’s session include Titan, L&T, and Tata Steel, which surged 1.72 per cent, 1.36 per cent & 0.36 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the top three losers are Tech Mahindra Bajaj Finserv, State Bank of India which slipped by 2.57 per cent, 2.28 per cent & 1.57 per cent, respectively.
