Five stocks witnessing long unwinding
Long unwinding refers to selling of positions or stocks owned for a longer period either to book profit or to exit it in anticipation of impending bearishness.
On the third trading session of the week, the domestic benchmark indices opened in green. However, at 11.51 am, both were seen drifting towards the negative territory. While Sensex inched lower by 0.36 per cent at 57,906.00 level, Nifty plunged 0.38 per cent to be at 17,259.35 level.
Kotak Mahindra Bank, M&M, and Axis Bank turned out to be the top three gainers of the day, which climbed 1.71 per cent, 1.40 per cent & 1.15 per cent, respectively.
